Today we participated in the online symposium ‘Waterwheel’ with a presentation of our Paperboat project. We were delighted see all the other projects and to meet the other participants. Our session ‘Activism, Art & Science’ contained presentations of Paula Vélez Bravo, Jean Noël Montagné and Rob van Kranenbrug about the Ark0 and the OSWASH (open source washing machine), Mari Keski-Korsu about energy resources and activism and Lila Moore with a presentation about Water e-motion.
On March 4th 2014 the award ceremony of te ‘Haagse Lift‘, an annual Dutch prize for sustainanble and innovative projects took place at theatre ‘de Appel’ in The Hague. Our Paperboat project was nominated as one of the last 10 participants this year to make an elevator pitch movie in the ‘Haagse Toren’. Watch movie
The movies of the nominated projects were presented during the Haagse Communicatiedag from which a professional jury selected 3 projects. Together with BLOOMILY and iTwyc our Paperboat project was one of the last 3. The audience could then vote for their favourite project, and we came in second!
Coincidentally theatre ‘de Appel’ was presenting the play ‘Cassanova’ at the time, and because the play is set in a watery scenery, the whole stage was replaced by a large pool.
The ideal environment to demonstrate our Paperboat!

Our Paperboat project is nominated for the ‘Haagse Lift’ Competition, an annual Dutch prize for sustainable and innovative projects. The 10 nominees were requested to do a real elevator pitch in the 42 storeys high landmark, the ‘Haagse Toren’. During this one minute journey to the top of the building we had to present our project while the presentation was being recorded on film for the jury. The winner will be announced at the Haagse communicatiedag 2014 in theatre ‘de Appel’ on March 4th 2014.
